The new Majilis proportionally represents all the regions of Kazakhstan. The number of representatives of different ethnic groups, women and young people has been increased, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying at the meeting of Nur Otan policial council, where deputy mandates have been distributed. The Parliament will be made of representatives of different professional areas who will be qualified to take part in discussion of draft laws. “The President stressed that Nur Otan party will work in multi-party parliament in the environment of open competition. The party’s representatives have to thoughen up in the competition, be always in good shape, know more and demonstrate leadership qualities,” Nursultan Nazarbayev’s press-service wrote. Opening the meeting, the President noted that the elections were an important step in development of democracy in Kazakhstan. The President congratulated all the party members included into the list of the Majilis deputies. “I am confident that our deputies will worthily represent our people, our voters in the higher legislative body of the country. Nur Otan party that received an absolute majority of the votes in the last elections, has very good human capital and potential,” the President said.
